The Miele active charcoal filter is designed to absorb odors from the dust bag with the help of an active charcoal cassette. The SF-AA 50 active air clean filter combines the Miele Super Air Clean filter with the charcoal cassette to retain 99.95% of particles down to 0.5 of a micron. This filter is ideal for homes with pets that typically have to deal with more odor concerns.

The Miele SF-AA 50 Active AirClean charcoal filter needs to be replaced after 50 hours of use, approximately 1 year. To take out the guess work of knowing when to change this filter, it is equipped with timestrip.  This timestrip releases a red liquid over the period of a year, and when the line is completely red you'll know the filter needs to be changed.
