Belleek Pottery was established in 1858 by John Caldwell Bloomfield and two partners, Robert Williams Armstrong and David McBirney.  In 1884 the company began trading as Belleek Pottery Works Company in Belleek Ireland.  The company struggled throughout the First and Second World Wars, and they only produced earthenware during that time, however, at the end of WWII, they stopped the production of earthenware.  In 1988, Dungannon-based Powerscreen International bought the company.  Another change of ownership happened in 1990, George G. Moore became the new owner, and remains the owner today.  They've continued expanding and own several other brands you may be familiar with:  Galway Crystal (1993), Aynsley China (1997) and Donegal China (2000).  Belleek is best known for their Parian Porcelain, started in 1863, and still being made today.
